Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Western Union.
Business Analyst
The interview process felt really long and tedious. The interviewer seemed completely uninterested in what I was saying. By the end, I realized I didn't want the job anymore.
- Can you write MySql queries?
- What's your Excel knowledge like?
- Do you know Python?
Business Analyst
I got an email to set up my initial screening and it took two recruiters to get that scheduled. My initial screening call with my third recruiter was a typical interview and it went well. Next, I had my second interview with two higher-level people. They were unprofessional and laughed through most of my interview. After that interview, I got an assignment that I spent about four hours on to make it excellent. Recruiter number four then contacted me to schedule my in-person interview and number five became my contact. The in-person interview went well, with two professional individuals on site who also commented on how well I did on the assignment. I left feeling good about that one! However, after another two weeks and three follow-ups to my fifth recruiter, I received no response, which was very frustrating since I was just asking for an update on when I could expect to hear something. Finally, I got my rejection email from Western Union HR. I clearly did not get the position but towards the end, I started to question if I would even accept it after all the ridiculousness I had gone through. I had seen similar interview reviews before starting the process and didn't listen. I will not apply again and please, save yourself the time and look elsewhere.
- How patient are you when dealing with a completely absurd interview process?
Business Analyst
It was a pretty extensive process, starting with an HR interview, then a panel interview. After that, I had to write sample stories and an Epic for a hypothetical product. Finally, I interviewed with the Manager and Director. I really liked all aspects of the interview process, it was very easy going and stress free.
