It was a good interview. They didn't ask any coding questions. The questions were about the Western Union project and the company background. They asked how the WU application works and how to handle defects/bugs. They also asked hypothetical questions like if we develop something new, how to think of a solution before solving the bug.

So, for this frontend role at Western Union, which needed solid HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills, I had to go through a couple of technical rounds. My Angular background came in handy. They asked me frontend concept questions and some scenario-based ones, so I could show off both my coding chops and how I think through problems. The whole hiring thing wrapped up in about a week, and the Talent Acquisition folks were super communicative and helpful.

Confirmed questions8 questions
  • In the first technical round, I was given an API endpoint to fetch data and then asked to perform specific operations to get the desired result.
  • The second round covered a range of topics, including HTML basics.
  • CSS specificity rules were also covered.

The interview process was alright. They called me to Pune for a single managerial interview, and later conducted a Skype technical round. The technical round was quite basic and not very challenging, which left me surprised by the outcome. I was told my travel expenses would be reimbursed, but I haven't heard anything about that. It's disappointing because they could have done the Skype technical round first before asking me to travel to Pune, saving time and avoiding the reimbursement issue. I won't be applying again because of their approach.
