Sales Representative
I was reached out to by a recruiter via email from a job board a few days after I expressed interest. The recruiter was very friendly and had a good vibe on the phone. I hadn't heard of the company, but she explained the role well. I then got an email with a link to an application that was supposed to take 25 minutes but ended up taking about 45 minutes - it was a really long application. The next day, I was told to fill out more information and was given the name of the area manager who would contact me. However, I never heard from the manager and instead received an email about two weeks later stating I wasn't moving forward. It started off great, I just wish I'd had the chance to learn more and interview with the area manager. I still don't know the reason for the rejection.

Sales Representative
I applied online and got a call pretty fast, like within 24 hours. The next week I went in for a casual chat with the sales manager, which was cool. Then I had to do this skills and personality test, you know, the easy kind with common sense scenarios. A few days later, they let me know I passed and told me to do an online background check and set up a phone interview for the end of the week. That call was about 45 minutes, and they asked stuff like how I'd handle telling a subordinate they were breaking policy. Early the next week, I went back for another in-person interview, which was pretty laid-back and lasted as long as it needed to. They liked me enough for a second interview where they laid out the training. Basically, it's like a really guided relationship between you and the company. They set 15 hours a week for office time, and the other 30 hours are for you to find clients, but they give you lots of specific guidance and data to help you out.
- What are your expectations from this company?
- How would you approach your personal market?
Sales Representative
I was led to believe this would be a great job where I could make a lot of money or at least a decent income. This is a solid company with a good reputation. They start you out at 600 a week plus commissions for the first 6 weeks and then you go straight commission. But they give you a book of business with built in residual income. I thought I was set. Perfect job. Was hired in right away and thought I was taking off. Not so much.
- What makes you want this particular job?
- What is your motivation for pursuing a career in insurance?
