It was chill, no awkwardness but straightforward. Had a phone interview with the HR staff then another with two team members. Asked more questions on things on my resume and what I had done

Behavioral Technical Presentation

After I applied, the HR rep contacted me about a month later. She asked me about my salary needs and when I could start. She also requested a writing sample. A few days later, she called to arrange an on-site interview with people from the department. The interview lasted several hours. First, I met with the HR woman again. She explained the benefits in detail and gave me some information about Westat. Then, she took me to meet the research staff. The first panel had 3 department heads who were eager to hire and wanted someone quickly. They asked broad questions about my experience. Next, I had two more panel interviews, each with 3 research staff of different levels. They asked specific questions about my research experience, though some seemed uninterested. None of the questions were unusual or made me uncomfortable. I was there for about 3 hours. HR said they'd call the next week. They did call, saying they were still interviewing. I never heard back from HR, but got an automatic email about 3 weeks later saying they decided not to fill the position.

I had a similar experience of the recent Research Analyst post as well. Honestly, I felt like the panel interviewers wanted to find fault with my experiences and they really just made me feel uncomfortable during my interview. However, I did have a pleasant experience with the HR contact. I was relieved when I did not receive an offer from here.
