Sales Manager
I started with a recruiter call, then moved to a meeting with the Hiring Director. He and I connected well, so he set up a chat with one of his direct reports, who would be my peer. We had a great conversation too. The recruiter let me know I got good feedback and asked me to complete some paperwork because they wanted to move quickly. I did, and then she ghosted me. She didn't reply to emails or return calls. It's a shame when companies have recruiters who don't follow up, even after someone invests days interviewing. At least let candidates know if you're not moving forward.
- Tell me about your biggest achievement in your last role.
Sales Manager
Went to their own interview site. It was polite and appropriate. They gave a brief but honest appraisal of my fit. They agreed I wasn't a good fit, my growth potential was limited because of my background. I appreciated them not wasting my time. Most of the discussion was about my background, my expectations, and my goals. They were pretty open about their expectations and their environment. We agreed it wasn't worth my proceeding with the interview process.
- What did you expect from the job?
Sales Manager
The interview process was good. The HR screening was quick and efficient. The hiring manager interview lasted about an hour and consisted solely of behavioral questions.
- Tell me about a time you experienced a significant failure in your job, what actions you took, and what you learned from it.
