First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at West Pharmaceutical Services.
Project Engineer
The whole interview process was laid back and I felt comfortable and well-received the entire time, it was pretty painless. It ran from 8 AM to 4 PM. Each hour, I spoke with someone new who asked me questions about my past experiences and technical skills. They even arranged lunch with two people who were new to the company and around my age, which helped me connect with people on my level. I really recommend applying here if you're considering it.
- Can you share an instance where you faced a problem you couldn't solve and describe the steps you took to resolve it?
Packaging Engineer
I was a temp at West when my manager told me about this job, but I still had to apply externally. It started with a quick 30-minute HR call to go over the role's specifics and my background. Since I was already in the same building, I skipped the hiring manager's phone interview and went straight to the on-site. There, I had 4 separate 30-minute interviews with the division director of R&D, the packaging director, my hiring manager, and a senior packaging engineer. They asked me to elaborate on my experience and qualifications and threw in some behavioral and technical questions. I got an offer about a week after that.
- Regarding securing four plates with a nut, bolt, and washer, explain what each component does in that process.
- Can you share an instance from your studies or work where you had to rethink your approach to a task? What was your process for doing so?
Engineering
Resumes were chosen based on GPA and past experience. Around 50 potential applicants were chosen for a relaxed interview event where potential interns could chat with current employees. About a month and a half after that, I got a call saying I had an offer.
- Were there any specific questions about aspects of your resume?
