The interview was in a small office space behind the store at White City, London. I met with the district manager because the actual manager was sick. She was really looking for mistakes, even though she had no background in interior design. She looked at my portfolio and said I'd have trouble as a sales assistant. She sent me to another store to check out their work, and the staff there were surprised by how I was treated and said anyone could do the job. She tried to scare me into wanting to improve, but it just made me angry and disgusted. I felt like I was above her and should be working with the HQ on buying and designing furniture. Be careful applying here, they only care about money and create a toxic work environment; people quit a lot.

I applied for the job a while back, and then the assistant manager called me for a phone interview. After that, I got an in-person interview. I met with the assistant manager first, and then the store manager a week later. It felt good that there were so many interviews for the job, though it was a bit strange for a part-time role. I've followed up about the hiring decision by email and in person. The store manager seemed a bit distant. The Assistant Store Manager did talk to me after I waited a bit, but he couldn't give me an update on the hiring process. He did say I'd get a call either way.

I got contacted pretty fast after applying online. The general manager interviewed me. She was super nice and happy. The whole thing took about 30 minutes. It was mostly about what I'd do in hypothetical situations, my work and problem-solving approach, and stuff from past jobs. She also said it was my chance to interview her too, which I thought was cool. It let me ask what I needed to know and made things feel more equal and chill. Honestly, it was one of the best interviews I've had, and they offered me the job right after we finished talking.
