First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at West Coast Concepts.
Account Executive
It was a 3 step interview process. First, I spoke with the HR manager, and then she had me talk to the hiring manager. After my chat with Kara, I was invited back for the second round. During the second round, I shadowed a team member and observed all the day's meetings. We also met with some clients and discussed growth and compensation over lunch. The whole process was pretty straightforward. I appreciated getting a glimpse into the role I would potentially be taking on.
- What do you seek in a new role?
- What skills do you possess that would benefit the company?
- How would you rate your confidence when interacting with people?
Account Executive
The first round was pretty standard, just asked some regular questions. The second round was totally different; they took me out in the field with an account exec doing door-to-door sales. It was cool they showed us exactly what the job entails, even if it's not like other interviews. It was a bit weird though, having to answer 'exam' questions at the end. The job description makes it sound better than it is, so if you don't want to do literal door-to-door sales, don't bother applying.
- Can you explain your interest in the West Coast region?
Account Executive
The interview process has 3 stages. First is a phone screening to see what you're looking for and if you'd fit in. It's a quick, standard phone screening. The second stage is an in-person interview asking standard questions about your resume, school/work experience, and if you're comfortable with the job duties. My first interview was about 15 minutes, and I heard back the same day about moving to the next round. The next interview is an all-day event shadowing a current employee to see what their typical sales day is like. I really enjoyed this day because everyone there is friendly and fun. At the end, there's a one-page survey asking about what you learned from the employees. If you pass, they'll ask you to email them answers to 3 questions. I heard back 2 days later that I got the job, but I declined because I got a better offer.
- Are you a team player?
- Why are you interested in West Coast Concepts?
- Are you comfortable with face-to-face sales?
