Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at WESCO International.
Manager
Applied online and got an interview invite two days later. On the same day, I received a take-home exercise that took me the whole weekend to finish. I thought I did a great job on the exercise, so I moved on to a second interview. During this interview, I spoke with the hiring manager about my resume. They asked me some uncomfortable questions about clients from my last company. The manager mentioned that I did a great exercise but had reservations about one aspect of the job, which they never clarified. They initially said they'd respond the next day, but I never heard back, which I found unprofessional. Candidate time is valuable, so a courtesy call or email is expected.
- Could you walk me through your resume?
- Tell me about your resume.
Manager
The recruiter was very responsive and communicative, though the overall process was extremely slow, taking months for a final resolution. I had a face-to-face meeting with two people. The second person I met was the one I would be replacing, and they had no prepared questions and didn't take any notes during our discussion. It's evident that the recruitment process is disjointed.
- I cannot recall any specific questions as it was a long time ago.
Manager
The interview process was efficient. There were 4 rounds, and each felt brief and straightforward. It felt more like casual chats, making the experience stress-free.
