First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Werner Enterprises.
Driver
I talked to the recruiter by phone and then again in person at my truck driving school. I faxed an application like they asked. I never heard back from Werner after that, and it seemed like the recruiter didn't get my info or application. The recruiter also told me to take a bus to orientation and they'd pay for the ticket. I turned down the offer because I didn't want to take a greyhound bus to Werner; I feel like they do that so you don't just leave.
- How often do you want to be home?
- What kind of driving do you want to do (e.g., dry van, reefer)?
Class A Truck Driver
I applied online and heard back from a recruiter via email. I responded with my availability, stating email is the best way to reach me. Then, nothing. I tried again with a different recruiter, same response, same ghosting. This happened several more times. During a live chat, I asked about the lack of response. They said they were concerned about sharing information with 'scammers.' I want to switch companies to Werner, but I can't just quit my current job to apply. I'm still working as a truck driver and can't just stop working to take a call. Email is really the best way to communicate with me.
- Could you tell me about your experience?
Truck Driver
The interview process was lengthy but necessary. The recruiters followed through on what they promised no games. All your questions will be answered if you ask them so ask every question you can think of or write them down.
- Would you be open to working on different types of accounts?
