Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wendy's.
Manager
I had 3 interviews. First, I talked to a recruiter. Then, I had 3 interviews with the management team. It was pretty easy to follow along but the questions were very difficult for a simple restaurant. They went into too much detail, it felt like I was applying to buy the business.
- Tell me about your background and experience in the restaurant industry.
Senior Manager
The interview process was long and drawn out, and felt unnecessary. The location wasn't great and the service was bad. It's a shame for those who want to make a difference.
- Was the interview a waste of time?
Restaurant Manager
Had a sit-down chat with the General Manager for the first interview, then the Regional Manager for the second. Both interviews were pretty similar. It was a relaxed conversation where the Manager asked things like 'What do you think this job entails?' and 'What past experiences have you had in similar areas?'. We talked a bit about previous jobs, experiences, and any extra training I might have. The Regional Manager did bring up expected salary; I think I could have asked for more, but I felt a bit awkward about it. Got contacted back really fast after that.
- Tell me about a situation where you had to handle a difficult guest and what you did.
- What do you believe this role involves?
- What previous experiences do you have that are relevant to this position?
