Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at WellPoint.
Programmer
So the hr first welcomed me and then I was interviewed by a group of 3 people, which included the director, a senior, and a regular staff member. They asked behavioral, technical, and other types of questions. The whole thing took about an hour. After that, there was a written test which covered all the technical stuff, including coding and logic questions.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Senior Software Engineer
So I had 3 interviews: a phone interview, a one-on-one with the hiring manager, and then a group interview. They told me I was a top candidate after all that. Then 3 weeks later, an email saying the position was temporarily closed. And then 2 months after that, another email saying I wasn't the right fit... Glad I already accepted another offer and wasn't holding my breath for them. Totally disrespectful of people's time.
- The interview was pretty standard except it took too much time.
Software Developer
The interviewer was super serious and got straight to the point. I had to do some homework beforehand for the questions they asked. They started with the usual stuff like strengths and weaknesses, then moved on to more specific questions about my skills.
- Can you tell me about your strengths?
- What are your leadership capabilities?
- What are your weaknesses?
