I interviewed with Welkin Health for over a month. Everyone was pleasant, and passionate about the company. After I completed two rounds of interviews, they were to fly me to HQ for face to face interviews by the end of the week. They even asked what day worked for my schedule. Two days went by, and I received an email that said "We actually are extending an offer to a candidate who is further along in our interview process. Should they accept, we won't be hiring for this role any longer. If they don't accept, I'd love to fly you out to meet the team." Two days went by, and then "Thanks so much for your patience. We ended up getting an offer accept for the candidate who is further along in our interview process, so we're no longer hiring for this position. If anything changes or if we open up a similar role in the future."

Behavioral Other

I got connected with Welkin through investors after my startup shut down. The interview process involved an initial phone call, a brief sourcing and outreach task, and then an on-site where I met with the team to review skills. They also included an emotional intelligence assessment. Welkin's culture is really about creating an inclusive and psychologically safe space where you can be yourself, and that came through even as a candidate. I felt really inspired by the process and learning about the team. I have a lot of respect for the organization and the community they're building. Their candidate-focused approach is definitely something to aim for. It didn't end up being the right fit for me, but I always recommend Welkin when I hear a friend is looking for a job.

Coding Technical Behavioral Presentation

Olivia got in touch when I was job hunting. A few days after talking to Olivia, I had a remote coding exercise with an engineer in early March. I went on-site about a week later. Olivia gave me a verbal offer the next day and a written one the day after that. Welkin invited me to lunch with the team that Friday. They seemed to move fast and were cool about giving me time to decide.

Confirmed questions8 questions
  • Similar to another account, I had a remote coding screen then an afternoon on-site with problem-solving, pair programming, and role-play exercises.
  • Three sessions were technical, mostly focused on exercises with brief chats with engineers.
  • Sessions with the engineering manager and CTO were more about past experiences, career path interests, and company/industry questions.

I had one call with the current BD lead, then a call with the CEO. After that, we had lunch together. Then I did a 4-hour visit to the company to meet engineers, the designer, and the other co-founder. The actual interview started with the CEO, then the CTO, then two engineers were in the room while a third took me around the block in a role-play. It concluded with the current BD lead. Everyone was really open to questions and asked good ones themselves, especially about culture fit.
