The first interview went well, then they gave me a project. The project was to look at a campaign on their website, analyze it, and then make a plan to make it better. This project took over 6 hours. After that, I had another interview with 2 staff members who were in charge of the fundraising team. They were late and didn't seem interested during the whole interview. Even though I had two interviews and did a project, they never got back to me after the last interview.

Behavioral Presentation

The interview process took a bit of time and involved a few different people. Everyone was friendly and seemed eager to assist. The role requires you to be present in person. I'd suggest applying if you're able to come in.

Behavioral Other

I had an initial phone screen with someone recruiting for the role, not an actual recruiter. While the role sounded good on paper, it wasn't as appealing after talking to them. It felt like they expected you to be available all the time and be best friends with everyone, with a lot of "drinking the Kool-Aid" vibe. There was also some ego and "bro culture" evident, with comments like "I'm not saying I won't move you to the next round but it's possible that will happen" or "If it doesn't work out I can add you to a list we're creating of candidates to keep in touch with." I was told I'd hear back in a couple of days but it took over a week. They passed on me, but I had already decided not to proceed. They wanted to keep me on a special list, but I declined. Given this would be the first design hire and it's very engineering-driven, it doesn't seem like design has much influence.

I applied online, and then got an email about a phone interview. The interviewer barely said a word the entire time, but somehow I passed. Next, I had a Skype interview that went much better. Finally, I was supposed to have a third round phone interview but it took many emails to actually get a response about setting it up. That one didn’t go very well so I didn’t expect to get an offer, but I just never heard from them again. Even after emailing to inquire about my status, no response.
