Talked to the recruiter at the career fair, and they immediately called me back. They asked me a single Javascript question. I answered the pseudocode part correctly but messed up the Javascript part. The interview basically ended there, and I was told to "go finish Codecademy and then come back next career fair."

Technical Coding

The process was really fast, with three main parts. First, there was a simple take-home quiz that wasn't too tough and was easy to handle. Then, I had a 30-minute video call with an engineer to check if I had the basic technical skills. Finally, there was a 2-day trial period at Weebly where I got to experience the full vibe of working there. It was a great experience, and I was bummed when I didn't get the offer. During the trial, I was given an assignment and had to present my work or what I'd done by the end of the second day. I found out if I got the job a few days later.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Tell me about your basic coding knowledge.
  • Can you complete tasks within a reasonable timeframe during the trial period?

Technical Coding Presentation

After a quick chat via Hangouts, I was invited for an on-site interview. Instead of typical technical questions, I was given a trial project to complete over several days. The project involved building an interactive website, and I had the flexibility to decide which parts to emphasize. Weebly compensated me for my time on this project. I found the trial project to be very enjoyable and felt it showcased my programming abilities more effectively than standard interview questions would.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • The trial project was the entirety of the assessment; there were no standard coding problems like implementing quicksort or finding the longest increasing subsequence in an array.
