The interview was a series of questions about me, how I would benefit the company, and some problem solving questions. They also asked about ecommerce and the Weebly platform. We had to make a website using their software and present it. I made an ecommerce site in about three hours.

I found the remote customer service contractor opening at Weebly online, making $17/hr. I knew it was a contract role going in. Within 3 days of applying, I got an email to set up an interview. Two days after that, I had my phone interview. It was actually with 3 managers, though I mostly heard from 2 of them who did a bad cop/good cop routine. They explained the job details, emphasizing it's strictly contract work without benefits, requiring me to cover 25%-30% in taxes and my own materials. They also mentioned contractors can be let go without unemployment benefits and aren't subject to minimum wage rules. Importantly, there's virtually no chance of moving to employee status. However, it's a good resume builder for Silicon Valley. They do provide about 3 days of remote training before you start assisting clients via email and tickets.

The interview process was pretty straightforward. I applied on a weekend, and the company responded via email the next Monday. Unfortunately, I didn't find out for a couple of months that I didn't get the job. The recruiter was supposed to let me know, but didn't until I applied a second time. I actually applied 4 times in total. Two unorganized recruiters rejected me immediately without giving me a chance to show what I could do. I still think it's a great company, they just need to improve their recruiting/HR staff.
