I had a call with the recruiter, then spoke with the hiring manager, then there was a take-home assessment, and finally a 1.5 hour panel interview. I declined to proceed with the interview process though. They wanted me to come into the office 3 days a week, jump through multiple hoops to have a shot at working with them, and also wanted me to take a $20k USD pay cut.

The interview started with a half-hour initial call. After that, there was an in-person interview with three people, followed by a skills test. I first met with two members of the tech team, which went really well. Then, I met with the group's Director and was asked to describe a program I had written. I really struggled to visualize the program or recall specific lines of code, and I couldn't explain it effectively. Usually, I get very specific technical questions, which I find more relevant. I was asked one technical question, but it was theoretical and not something used in daily work, so I didn't do well on that either. The skills test itself was okay, but it seemed thrown together quickly; there were repeated options among the answers, and some correct answers were impractical for real-world application, making it unclear what they were actually testing. The office environment was pleasant, although there seemed to be a shortage of meeting rooms; I'm not sure if the Director even had a dedicated office, as we had our meeting in an open area. Everyone I met was incredibly friendly and casual, it would have been a great place to work.

There were 3 rounds of interviews. The first was with a Lead Developer, covering C#, .NET MVC and Core, Micorservices, and SQL, with questions from basic to advanced. They also asked me to write some MVC code in notepad. The second round was with a Techno Manager, focusing on previous project experience, 3 coding questions (LeetCode easy-medium), and an architecture question where I had to create a flowchart for a document upload system. The last round was with an Onshore Product Manager, starting with basic behavioral questions and past project experience, then a tough DSA question that needed solving on notepad, specifically implementing a route config-like structure for API routing. I did well in the first two rounds but got rejected because I couldn't solve the DSA question.
