Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at WebMD Health.
Analyst
The interview process was great and the questions were easy. They asked guesstimates and SQL. There was another round with stakeholders about projects and resume experience. Overall, it was a good experience. HR was good too. Topics covered included data handling of huge volumes, statistics, hypothesis testing, and A/B testing.
- Can you explain the difference between an inner join and a left join?
Pricing Analyst
I had an initial call with a recruiter, then an interview with the hiring manager. After that, I had 3 separate interviews with other team members over a week, some of which were with people overseas in different time zones. Then, during a 2nd round interview with the hiring manager, I was asked what I learned from the other interviews. I never heard back after that. It felt like a huge waste of my time.
- Can you share how you found out about this job opening?
- What makes you believe you are a good fit for this role?
Analyst
I talked to the recruiter first, then met with the people on the team. It took a while. They asked a lot about how I manage things, what I've done before, what my career goals are, and some questions about my skills. The interviewers were pretty upfront about what the job is like day-to-day and the company culture. Sometimes the recruiter was really short and didn't give much info when I asked more questions. I got an offer but turned it down because they wouldn't budge on salary. Other places pay better and have better perks.
