First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at WebFX.
Junior Web Developer
The founder reached out on LinkedIn, thinking I'd be a good fit based on my CS degree and GPA. The first step was a phone call to discuss career goals and college experiences, and to prepare for job description questions. They were just trying to get to know me better, not looking for perfect answers. After that, I moved to a written interview stage. This involved a Google form with open-ended questions about my personal projects and what I'm looking for in a developer role. Some questions were simple, others tough. They wanted to see if I was a good fit for the role. I didn't get past this stage.
- Looking back, what, if anything, would you alter about your time in college?
Web Developer
After submitting an online application, I had a phone interview, then a written assessment with about 20 short answer questions. After that, there were three stages in person: a chat with the talent acquisition coordinator, an IQ test, an interview with the hiring managers, and a discussion with my potential future coworkers. A few days later, I had a coding test. Throughout the whole process, everyone was really good at communicating and very helpful. I heard back about the next steps within a day or two after each stage.
- Can you describe a time you were under a lot of stress and explain how you managed it?
Web Developer
There were 2 phone interviews, followed by 2 in-person interviews. We also had a coding test and a short IQ/reading comprehension test. The focus was more on culture than experience. They understand that developing skills takes time and they don’t expect you to know everything. Instead, they emphasize your character – if you’re a good fit for the company and have the capacity to challenge yourself and learn from new situations.
- Can you share an instance where you faced difficulties on a project and how you managed to resolve them?
