Started with an email from the recruiter, then had a screening call with someone from the team. After that, I did a case interview with two of the hiring managers. Finally, I had a call with a recruiter to go over compensation expectations and talk about what's next.

So, there were four interviews total. First, an HR screening where they asked about my past work, how fast I get things done, and working with engineers. Then, an interview with my manager and a coworker who'd already looked at my resume and had specific questions about my previous jobs. After that, they gave me a case study to work on for a week and present to people on my potential team and other folks I'd work with. The last interview was with senior leaders, and they hit me with a mix of behavioral, product design, and big-picture questions about Wealthsimple's business. The whole process was pretty good, and they always got back to me quickly. I also got to learn a lot about the team and the work involved.

It was a multistep startup interview process. First, there was an initial culture fit/life story interview with the Talent Acquisition team. Then, I had a general technical phone interview with the CEO of the Custodian/Broker. After that, I had 3 interviews in person: one with a senior engineer who the role would work with directly, one with the Director of Client Success, and the other with Senior Director of Business Operations. These interviews were mostly culture fit, with some behavioural/technical questions thrown in. Lastly, I had a video interview with the CFO, to whom the position reported, and a phone interview with their GM of Canada. Since the role involves a lot of cross-team interaction, it was great getting to meet various leaders.
