Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wealthsimple.
Portfolio Manager
The hiring process took about 5 weeks from start to finish. It included 2 phone interviews and then 2 trips to the Wealthsimple office. Everyone I met was super energetic, professional, and really into the company. During the office visits, I had to do a case study that was relevant to the job, and I also gave a presentation to people from different teams. It felt like a really thorough process, and it seemed like they genuinely put in the effort to find someone who's not only qualified but also a good cultural fit. Their office has a really friendly and welcoming vibe.

The team did a good job explaining the interview process and always made sure my questions were answered. There were many interviews with different team members. I was kept in the loop the whole time and never left waiting for info. It was a very positive experience.
- Can you tell me why you are interested in WS?
- What are your reasons for wanting this specific role?
- Could you walk me through your previous positions?
Portfolio Manager
It was a very thorough and friendly interview. The interview was collaborative and took into account technical as well as behaviour aspects of the role. I felt that the hiring team was interested in making sure this was a good fit for me as much as it was for them. The culture of feedback was demonstrated throughout the process.
