Data Scientist
I was contacted by a recruiter. Then, I had a chat with the hiring manager about the job and fit. After that I had an hour long video call with stats, SQL, and business questions. Then I had the onsite interviews. Some of the interviewers where really not paying attention and was obviously asking questions that they did not understand. Probably they were reading from a paper that was created for them. The recruiters do a very poor job. They constantly misinformed me about the content of interviews. They tell you that there will be no business cases but during the interview you learn that you need to spend an hour solving a business case.
- Stats questions range from very simple conceptual questions to very tricky and difficult probability questions.
- SQL questions were easy but the interviewer did not understand the database, which created a lot of confusion.
- Take home is very hard and time-consuming.
Data Scientist Intern
The onsite interview had 4 rounds. The first round was coding questions, the second was Machine Learning model questions, the third was business model questions, and the fourth was behavioral questions. Each round was about 1 hour, so the total interview time was around 4 hours.
- What are your strategies for handling datasets with imbalanced data?
Data Scientist Intern
1. Interview with Data Scientist where they described projects and some ML concepts. 2. Take Home Challenge, which I didn't do, but it was a very good exercise as you will have to familiarize yourself with the tools they'll use.
- What is the difference between overfitting and underfitting?
