Business Account Consultant
Waypoint is a very professional and organized company. Marcie originally contacted me regarding my resume posted on careerbuilder and was so polite and professional on the phone invited me for the preliminary interview. I was able to meet both of the managers for a bout 20 minutes and going into the office it was such a positive and inviting experience. I was picked to move forward for the full day shadow where I spent the day with one of the top reps of the company and see exactly what they do. The experience was wonderful, I saw exactly what the position entailed and nothing was left hidden. I was selected for the final interview and Meredith called me later that night to offer.
- How do you define success, and what leadership qualities do you value?
- What qualities do you find important in leadership?
Account Manager
I sent in my application online and they called me back the very next day. First, they did a quick 15 minute phone call asking basic stuff like why sales, and to rank culture, growth, and money. Then, I met them for a 45 minute chat over coffee, which was more of a get-to-know-you situation with a quick company rundown. They really care about personality and you don't need prior sales experience, just be friendly, outgoing, and communicate well. After that, I met with Matt, the president. You really need to know their business because he'll quiz you on what you learned during the coffee chat. Finally, Matt discussed the pay, and heads up, it's commission-only, which they only tell you at the very end.
- What is your priority between culture, career growth, and compensation?
Business Account Consultant
I went through a 2-round interview process for this role. The first interview was pretty chill and they gave me a general overview of the job. For the second interview, I got to shadow an employee for a day, which was awesome because I could see exactly what the job entails. I really liked that it wasn't just sales and marketing; there's also room for professional growth and a chance to become a manager. I enjoyed being out and about, talking to customers, and the person I shadowed was super helpful and fun. It was a great and informative interview overall.
- The first interview was really fun and laid back. Nothing unexpected really.
Business Account Consultant
Got contacted by a recruiter after posting my resume on CareerBuilder, and we set up a quick 5-minute chat to check my attitude. Later that day, they called to set up the next interview, which was a full day of shadowing a door-to-door salesman. At the end of that day, I completed a short survey and had a final chat with the owner. There were about 20 other people interviewing that same day. I got a job offer that same evening.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
