First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wayfair.
Senior Manager
I applied through my school's MBA application process and cannot say enough good things about this process. The first round of the process was two different interviews with two different people, one behavioral and one case. The second round of the process was three different interviews with three different people, one case, one scenario and one behavioral. The MBA campus recruiting manager was very organized and always sent informational material on what to expect and how to prepare. Everyone that interviewed me was extremely nice. Although I didn't receive an offer, the MBA campus recruiting manager called to give me the news instead of sending an automated email.

Senior Manager
This was a 2-month interview process with Wayfair that ended with a no-show and no communication. It started standard with 2 rounds: a phone screen and a meeting with the hiring manager. Both went well with good conversation. Round 3 was a panel with about 5 senior/executive leaders, plus a case study, taking around 3 hours and it was pretty tiring. I felt I connected well with the leaders. Two senior leaders even asked if I was open to other roles due to my unique skillset. The case study itself was relatively simple, but the on-the-spot math solving was a challenge and caught me by surprise, as usually these are given with a 24-hour turnaround. After this, I waited a week for a response, then heard nothing for 2 weeks before getting an email for a 4th interview. The experience was abysmal and embarrassing for a company like Wayfair to treat top candidates this way. This final interview was rescheduled twice last minute, within an hour of the original time. Then, at the final scheduled time, which I had confirmed that morning with the recruiter, no one joined the call. I tried calling, emailing, and texting the recruiter during and after, but heard nothing. It's been a week since this no-show, and still no word from Wayfair - no apology, no feedback, no declination, not even an attempt to reschedule. After 2 months of interviewing for a senior leadership role, especially with a talent shortage, this is unacceptable.
- Can you share instances of your leadership?
- Can you give examples of leading process improvement initiatives?
- What are examples of how you used data to drive change?
Supplier Management
Started with an HR chat, just a casual 'tell me about yourself' and 'about us' type of thing. Then, I had a chat with the team lead, which was heavy on case studies and included a good amount of analytical and math problems.
- Mainly case based questions, need to brush on your math skills.
