The interview process had some issues with management. I was contacted by two different HRs. After I gave my availability for the next interview, they sent me two unrelated emails. I asked for clarification and the correct slot, but didn't hear back for 4 days. Finally, HR called and said they were putting the hiring on hold for this position. I spent 2 days on the case study, which felt unprofessional. I had doubts due to the company's low Glassdoor rating, and now I see why people complain.

There were four interviews in total. The first was with a recruiter, asking high-level analytics questions to confirm you're an analytics professional. The second and third interviews were with other analysts and involved short case studies. The math used was algebra with straightforward numbers. They also asked business-related questions about the math, like recommendations for an ad based on your calculations. The last interview was in person in Boston, meeting with three different groups. My experience was the first group did a behavior-based interview, the second was similar to the analyst rounds with algebraic questions, and the last was a 9-step math interview where they gave a complex regression formula and asked you to explain each step's calculation and its importance.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • For a 9-step math question, can you explain the calculation and significance of each step?
  • Can you explain what each step in a 9-step math problem is calculating and why it is important?

I applied online and then got an HR email the same afternoon to schedule a quick 15-minute HR screen. They asked basic stuff like why Wayfair and when I could start. Right after, HR emailed again to set up a 45-minute phone call with a senior analyst, which was a case study on conversion rate and profit. Three days later, HR emailed to schedule a Skype interview with another senior analyst, also a case study on conversion rate and profit. A few hours after that, I got an email to schedule the on-site interview for Monday. The on-site had 3 rounds: a 90-minute tech interview with a pseudo-code problem about calculating seasonal product amounts in 9 steps, followed by a 1-hour case study, and then a meeting with the director to discuss past experiences and a small business sense case.

Confirmed questions6 questions
  • If revenue stays flat or drops slightly, but email registration increases significantly, would you consider that outcome acceptable?
  • Please describe the 9-step model for calculating the seasonal quantity of products using pseudo code.
  • Tell me about your previous work experiences.
