Technical Coding

I got an online assessment on Hackerrank. It had parts for data manipulation and data insights. The data manipulation part used Pandas and wasn't too hard. The data insights part involved an Excel spreadsheet where I had to draw some insights and recommendations from it.

  • Based on these insights, what recommendations can you make?
  • How would you go about evaluating these recommendations?

Technical Case Behavioral

It started with a 4-hour hackerrank take home assessment before I even talked to anyone. After that, there was a recruiter call, then a data case study interview focused on pricing analysis. The final round involved an A/B testing case study and a behavioral interview. They ghosted me after the final interview, which was really disappointing given the effort involved.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Tell me about a project you worked on (deep dive).
  • How would you approach a pricing analysis case study?
  • How would you conduct an A/B testing case study?

Coding Case Behavioral

It was a long and impersonal process... I applied through a referral. About a week later, I got a link for a 2-hour coding assessment. After I submitted that assessment... radio silence for about 25 days! Then, I got an invite for the first round. It was a case study that needed some basic NLP knowledge. Then, after 2 weeks, I was told I made it to the final round. They didn't tell me when it would be, though; I got notified less than 48 hours in advance! The final round had a behavioral, a case, and a coding part. The case interview was all about time series, even though it was obvious from my resume that this isn't my strong suit. For a role that's very ML/DL-focused, I was surprised I wasn't asked about my understanding of ML algorithms or statistics, or given a chance to talk about my past projects in detail. The rejection came 4 business days later.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Can you create a model for an ad bidding strategy, specifically using time series?
  • Implement K-means from scratch.
