Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wawanesa Insurance.
Actuary
I had a formal interview with the line manager, then a second round interview with a director. It went pretty good. In the end, it wasn't quite the match but did indeed enjoy the interview process.
- Can you tell me about your past experience?
- What drives your interest in this position?
Actuarial Analyst
We started with an initial phone screen with HR that lasted about 15-30 minutes. Then, I had a phone interview with the hiring manager for an hour where we talked about my resume, what the job is all about, and how my technical skills fit. The last part was an on-site interview that took up half a day, where I got to meet the rest of the team.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
- What makes you the ideal candidate for this position?
- What motivates your interest in property and casualty insurance?
Actuarial Intern
The interview included behavioral questions and inquiries about my previous work experience. The process was pretty standard, and it wasn't overly difficult. The interview felt more like a casual conversation. Overall, it was a good experience.
- Reflecting on your past job, what's something you would change if you could do it again?
