Had a phone interview then an in person one. Waited about 3-4 days and they gave me an offer over the phone. Got a follow up from the first phone interview. The in-person part was about 25 minutes and they asked some basic questions about the company and my skills.

Behavioral Other

My interview went okay, but Wawa recruiters and Area Managers act like Wawa is some big-shot company like Walmart. I've got years of GM experience at convenience stores, but they won't hire you unless you've worked at a big box store. Instead, they'll insult you by offering an assistant manager role, probably because they think it's similar pay. Who leaves a job for the same pay elsewhere? It makes no sense. I met all the requirements, but because I came from a competitor, they default to offering assistant manager. The area manager bragged about her leaders being the strongest, but her district is my local area, and I've already seen so many issues just by observing. I think Wawa has a massive ego. You're just a convenience store, after all. Okay, maybe I'm a little salty. I did get an offer, but I turned it down because I didn't apply for an assistant manager job. Right when the recruiter called, within the first minute, she mentioned assistant manager just based on my competitor experience. She said, 'we like to set our general managers up for success, usually individuals who come from (my former job) don’t perform as our general managers do.' Seriously? Wawa needs to get a reality check. The area manager said she had 15 general managers in a 12-store district. So are you even hiring? This is typical Wawa behavior. Wastes your valuable time. It's a trap to get Assistant General Managers.

Behavioral Case

The interview process is situational based. You'll be asked 'Tell me about a time...' questions, so make sure to use specific examples. Remember to put people and process first. Also, highlight how you made your work environment fun and inclusive. Don't be put off if the interviewer(s) have a dry attitude or if they role play using a good cop/bad cop approach.
