First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wavestone.
Business Developer
It was 2 years ago and I never took the time to comment. Process in 4 steps, each step you are asked to improve yourself taking into account the feedback from previous interviews. The process that to this day has brought me the most with rich feedback and challenging situational exercises
- It's more exchanges than questions, especially during the last interview with the Partner.
Business Development Intern
There were 3 rounds of interviews. I first interviewed with a consultant, then an account manager, and finally a senior manager. They were all really great people and were happy to teach me about the job and the firm. Each interview was about 15-30 minutes and covered basic BD and motivational questions.
- Can you describe the Business Development role?
Business Developer
Long and laborious process: a first phone call to qualify, then a 1.5-2h in-person interview with a KAM, followed by a 1.5h case study (commercial meeting simulation), then another 1.5h interview with a different KAM, a HR debrief, a 1.5h interview with Management, a personality test, and finally a HR interview. This is an extremely heavy process to handle for people who are currently employed. From my perspective, it's totally excessive for a sales role, especially since in 80% of cases, you have to start at the bottom as an Account Developer.
- Regarding WS's competition, what advantages does a consulting firm with sales reps offer?
- What motivates you to pursue a career in consulting?
- What makes you interested in WS specifically?
