First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wavestone.

So, the interview was like, two parts. First, they hit me with some behavioral questions, just to see how I handle things and what I'm like. Then, the second part was this tech case interview with the manager. It was all about looking at a tech problem, showing how I'd figure it out and break it down. They wanted to check my tech smarts, if I could think outside the box, and how well I could explain my ideas. Basically, they were checking if I'd fit in, how I make choices, and if I'm a good match for the team and company.

- Given a technology scenario, can you demonstrate your problem-solving and analytical skills?
- How would you communicate your solutions for the technology case?

You'll have 4 interviews over 3 rounds total. It's important to show you can reflect on your experience and your immediate answers throughout. First, a quick HR interview (max 30 min) to see if you're a good overall fit. They'll check your commercial sense, reasoning skills, and attitude. Then, a first interview with an Account Developer (who's a grade 1 in the sales team, with Business Analysts being grade 0), it's a bit more in-depth. The second round has two interviews: a case study where you need to show your thinking by imagining from scratch what defining a need involves in a simulated situation; and a second one with an Account Manager or Senior Account Manager (grade 3/4), which is even more in-depth than the previous ones. Finally, the last round is an interview with a Partner. This can be as complex or as simple as the second interview; for me, the conversation was easy and very pleasant. Afterward, all the people involved meet to decide on your hiring. They give you a star rating from 1 to 5 at each step, which determines if you move on, but only the final meeting confirms your hire. What made the experience negative for me is that after the recruitment process, which was presented as complex but very selective (making the subsequent probation period seem more reassuring), it turned out the real difficulty was just beginning. It's far from over, and you still need to prove your soft skills, hard skills, ability to make allies, and your Added Value. To give you an idea, Wavestone prides itself on selecting 10% of candidates who pass the commercial recruitment, with only 6% ultimately passing their probation period. On the consulting side, only 5% of candidates on average pass the recruitment, but roughly the same proportion passes probation. This depends on the candidate's specialization; in-demand fields like Cybersecurity might be less picky than others that are more crowded.
- What is your analysis of your own performance?
Business Analyst
There was a phone call with HR. Then, an initial interview with a Senior Consultant to check motivations, with a Q&A about the firm. Finally, a second interview with a Senior Partner that included a case study.
