Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wavemaker.

First, I had a screening call which went well. Then, I was invited for an on-site interview at their New York office. The on-site was good, meeting with 3 senior managers. They mostly asked behavioral questions and about my past experiences. It's been 4 weeks and I'm still waiting for an answer. I've emailed and called the recruiter and interviewer several times with no response. The recruiter isn't answering any emails or voicemails. So, the whole experience was pretty bad. The interviewers seemed uninterested and wanted to leave the 30-minute meeting after 15 minutes. I'm assuming it's a reject since there's been no response in a month, but they should at least respond to candidates. Hopefully, they improve their process and respond to me if they see this.
- Can you tell me about your resume?
Associate
Got an email about a "group interview" for the following Friday. Said yes, and they scheduled a quick phone screener for that week before the in-person interviews. The screener was basic: tell me about your resume and how you organize your work. They said I was moving on and would send more details. The "group interviews" aren't really interviews together, but there are other candidates there at the same time; they were hiring 3 out of 7 of us. They might place you in any open role, not just the one you applied for. The in-person part had 4 separate 30-minute interviews with different people. Everyone was nice and answered questions. They respond in 24-48 hours. The pay is low, so don't take it if you're living alone. I was assigned to an account none of us interviewed for, so you might not meet your actual team until your first day.
- Are you applying to other agencies?
Senior Associate
It was a super fast interview process, all done within a single business week. I got to learn a lot about their work, and they were really efficient. Three interviews in one week is pretty unusual. The interviewers focused on my experience and made sure they understood it well. They asked a lot of questions, and the conversation was good. They seem to really care about employee growth, even now that I'm doing well with the company, they've shown how important my development is.
