Climate Data Advisor
It was about 8 rounds, not counting the initial calls with the recruiter. The process included a screening, chats with the hiring manager, a technical case study, the main rounds with a panel, and a final meeting with leadership. Recruiters were helpful, so I knew what to expect question-wise. All questions were a mix of behavioral, situational, and scenario-based. The interviewers asked good questions that helped them figure out my fit and also made me think about whether the role was a good fit for my career.
- Can you share an instance where you simplified a complex subject for an audience without technical backgrounds?
- Imagine a scenario where client ABC acted in a particular way (XYZ); what would be your approach to handling it?
Technical Enablement Manager
The interview process was pretty standard but felt pretty intense. I started with a recruiter chat, then an initial interview with the hiring manager. After that, I had a take-home exercise to complete. We then reviewed that take-home together. The final stage was a panel with three interviews back-to-back: one with a relevant manager about methodologies, another with the Head of Customer about GTM alignment, and a third with a PM about collaboration. Lastly, I interviewed with a founder. Throughout it all, the recruiter was super helpful and transparent, making me feel ready for each step. They really seemed to live their values, which has been my experience so far.
- Can you give an example of a complex, cross-functional issue you've successfully resolved?
- Could you share an instance where you tackled a difficult problem involving various teams?
- How have you facilitated alignment between go-to-market strategies and technical enablement efforts?
Technical Enablement Manager
Got referred by a former colleague. Started with a recruiter chat, then a hiring manager interview. Had to do a work sample. Then went into a panel interview with some cross functional partners (2x CS Leaders, Product, Hiring Manager). They then ghosted me for 21 days without any updates. In the end, no offer. The HM said they had some leave, a CS off site, and a last minute add to the candidate pipeline which probably caused the delay. Honestly don't think they ran a great recruitment process and not sure I was fairly evaluated due to the long gap between interviews and the outcome. Feedback was I have the strengths, but not the leadership leadership is looking for.
- Can you describe your strategy for scaling enablement programs?
- What are common mistakes to steer clear of when implementing enablement initiatives?
- Could you provide an instance where you offered feedback to a colleague outside your immediate team?
Senior Software Engineer
This was a really long interview process. The team seemed to lack diversity, and honestly, I was relieved I didn't meet their technical bar because their vibe felt elitist and exclusionary, which was unexpected given their product. It started with a 30-minute Recruiter Call where the recruiter was super friendly and really sold the company. Then, there was a 1-hour Take Home Project to build a spreadsheet app. The onsite interviews included a 15-minute Recruiter Welcome to chat about expectations, a 45-minute Collaboration session with 4 behavioral questions, a 30-minute Break, a 45-minute Technical Design Interview focusing on a feature flag system, a 1-hour Spreadsheet Coding Interview which was a continuation of the take-home, a 15-minute Break, a 1-hour Fullstack Coding Interview to implement a data fetcher function, a 1-hour Experience Interview with more behavioral questions, and finally, a 15-minute Recruiter Wrap Up where I could share my reflections and feedback.
- Could you build a basic spreadsheet from scratch with 10 rows and 10 columns, including creating the grid, calculating values with operators and displaying them on blur, showing original values on focus, and handling cell references for updates?
- Describe a situation where you mentored someone.
- Tell me about a time you had to deliver difficult feedback.
