There were 4 calls in total before I got the offer. It started with a recruiter call where we discussed my background and they asked a few straightforward technical questions. My recruiter was really helpful and gave some good advice for the following interviews. After that, I had 3 calls with engineers where we talked about my background and team fit, and they asked some more technical questions. There wasn't a coding assessment, but one of the engineer calls was just a series of specific technical questions covering everything on my resume.

So the interview kicked off with a call from the recruiter. It was super unprofessional, he told me I needed to impress him and asked for a presentation on why I was interested in the company, not even the role, which I clarified. He also asked how I'd compete with candidates from top schools like MIT or Harvard. I'd done my homework on the company's products and values, and I found it genuinely interesting, so I tried to communicate that. He rated my response as a 4/10 right after I finished speaking. It felt really demeaning, like he was just trying to put me down, and I couldn't figure out why he'd even set up the call. Having interviewed with other big tech companies, I know this isn't standard. It really makes me question the company culture, so just a heads-up.

Applied online and then a recruiter reached out for a call. Then I had a hiring manager interview. I think it went okay. They had me do a screen share and write some SQL code, which was unexpected. If you're going to have someone screen share, there should be a heads up before. It was fine though. After that - ghosted.
