First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Warner Bros. Discovery.
Accountant
I had an initial 15-minute phone call with HR/Recruiter. About a week later, I had a 45-minute virtual interview with the hiring manager. It was quite informal, covering my background, future aspirations, and some behavioral and technical questions. Another week passed, and I had a second virtual interview with the team's director. This one also felt pretty casual, focusing on my background, what I'm looking for, and behavioral questions. After that, I was left in the dark with no updates or a formal rejection, and the recruiter didn't respond when I reached out. It's pretty unprofessional to ghost candidates after they've invested time and effort in the interview process.
- Can you explain the accounting impact of prepaid invoices?
- What are the assertions related to accruals?
- How would you classify COGS and SG&A?
Accountant
The interview process was smooth, professional, and well-organized. The recruiters were clear about the steps involved and communicated promptly throughout. The first round consisted of behavioral questions to assess my experience and problem-solving skills, while the second round focused more on technical accounting knowledge. I appreciated how they made me feel comfortable and valued my responses. Overall, it was a fair process that allowed me to showcase both my technical expertise and my ability to handle challenges effectively.

Staff Accountant
The interview was great. They asked a bunch of questions about different accounting scenarios. If you're not mentally tough, this job probably isn't for you. They want you to be creative and have a vision, not just have an accounting degree. You need to be way more than that.
