Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wargaming.
Community Engagement Manager
It was a video interview over Zoom that lasted about 30-40 minutes and felt like it moved at a good pace. They asked important questions directly related to the job, and I didn't feel rushed at all. I had plenty of time to think and answer in a conversational way.
- Could you introduce yourself and explain what you hope to achieve in this position?
Community Manager
The interview process was very unprofessional. HR was all over the place with planning and failed to deliver meetings at the set times. The office itself was nice, but the employee presentation was awful, with people in pj's seeming to be the norm. The interview room was booked, and after a 30-minute wait sitting alone, I found it was left with trash and a rank body odor. The team's openness to trash-talking was also a major issue, making the whole experience not worth the drama.
- They asked my age.
- They seemed to judge me for not playing NES games.
Social Media Manager
The first part of the interview was to complete a Social Media Manager test. This involved creating captions for some provided pictures, making one post with your own content, developing a campaign to bring veteran players back to World of Tanks, creating a Social Media schedule, and responding to a Social Media Crisis.
- If a post you made today on multiple channels suddenly gets a lot of negative feedback, how would you respond?
- Suppose the World of Tanks marketing team wants you to promote a new project tomorrow, but you have crucial content already scheduled for that day. Would you adjust your schedule to fit their request, and how would you prioritize tasks?
- An employee from another department wants to release their new podcast on YouTube through your channels. After reviewing the content, you doubt its performance potential. However, this employee has already secured approval from your manager. What action would you take in this situation?
