Project Manager
The interview process included an HR interview, a technical interview focusing on PM soft and hard skills, and a final interview with management. The whole process was quick and friendly. Everyone was very professional, but you're up against 3-5 other candidates in the final stage.
- How would you handle team conflicts?
Project Manager
I went through two rounds of interviews with the team. First, there was a screening with the recruiter. It was a good chat and I was recommended to move on. Then, I spoke with the PM Director and the Game Director. We talked about my experience and covered standard project management topics. They ended up offering the role to someone else, but the process was quick and straightforward.
- Tell me about your game development background.
- What distinguishes different Agile methodologies from one another?
- How would you handle an internal team conflict?
Project Manager
The hiring process was super quick, finished in under a week. First, I had a brief call with a recruiter from a different office, not the one I'd be working in. About 15 minutes after that, I got moved to a second round. This second round felt more like a casual chat about my motivation and personality with someone who would've been my team lead. It seemed to go well, but then I got rejected two days later via an automated email. It felt strange after only two rounds, so I asked for an explanation. I just got a generic response, nothing specific about why they thought I was too junior, even though I have 4 years of experience and met almost all the requirements. They said, "After reviewing your candidacy, the hiring team recognizes your positive energy and determination to enter the gaming industry. However, based on your current experience, it is our assessment that your skills align more closely with a junior role, which unfortunately doesn't align with the specific requirements of the Project Manager position." They didn't assess any hard or soft skills in the second round, and even though they knew I lacked industry experience, they rejected me with a weak reason. I respectfully tried to explain why the rejection seemed unfair with valid points, and then they just stopped responding. A few days after the interview, the job was reposted on LinkedIn.
- Which games do you enjoy playing?
- What motivated you to apply to our company?
