Warehouse Interview Questions
& Process

Applied online and a week later HR set up an interview. They asked me to prepare a SWOT analysis, which took hours. The interview was supposed to be a 10-minute presentation of my findings followed by 5 minutes of questions, with the digital marketing manager and e-commerce manager. However, the DM manager was sick, so I was interviewed by only one person. He was shocked by my analytical findings and took a lot of notes. The interview was about 40 minutes, and he complimented my questions but seemed eager to end it. A week later, I hadn't heard back, so I emailed but got no reply. It felt like they were just after fresh ideas.

I applied on the website and got a phone call a week later inviting me to a group interview. They said if I couldn't make it, my application would be unsuccessful, but luckily I was free. The whole thing took about 3 hours and there were 8 of us. We were split into two groups for our first task. We got a sheet with questions like "Store A has excess stock of Product A, what would you do?" and we had to discuss it and write down our decision. While we were doing that, people were being called away for individual interviews. We also had a math test. A few days later, they called me back and said they weren't hiring me because they didn't think I was passionate about merchandising. I thought that was bad feedback because if I wasn't passionate, I wouldn't have interviewed. Some other candidates seemed strong though - one did their dissertation on Warehouse and another knew someone at the Warehouse head office. I did notice the job ad went up again about a month after they seemed to have already hired someone.

I applied online and then got an email to interview. The first interview was about 30 minutes, just to explain the role to me. A few days later, they emailed again for a second interview. For this one, I had to create two prints and then CAD them into garments, using Copenhagen fashion week as inspiration. The second interview itself was with the Design Director and Senior Designer and only lasted 20 minutes. I kind of felt like the Design Director had already decided she didn't want me when I got there. I didn't hear back for a few weeks, so I figured I didn't get it. Then HR called and said they weren't moving forward with my application because my handwriting wasn't a good fit for Warehouse's style.

I submitted my CV and had an interview the very next day. It was a one-on-one with the manager. Everyone was friendly, and they welcomed me into the store. It was relaxed and comfortable, which was great because I was really nervous. They asked me experience-based questions and if I had any holidays or questions for them. They said I'd hear back soon, and I did, getting a call two days later.
