First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wallace Morgan.
Marketing Assistant
I went to an interview in a shared office space with a loud Billboard music background. First, I filled out a basic info form. After a 20-minute wait, another candidate and I were called in. The interviewer asked some simple questions and described the B2B marketing position, which turned out to be door-to-door sales. We were told to wait for a phone interview later that day, which I did not answer. The interview lasted about 5 minutes.
- Tell me about yourself.
- What do you do in your free time?
Account Executive
I applied online and got an email for a phone interview, which turned out to be a setup for an in-person interview. The first in-person interview was with the company owner and wasn't tough. Then, I felt pressured into a 'second interview' where I was sent out to do DOOR TO DOOR SALES with a current account executive, which they didn't disclose beforehand. I felt misled.
- No challenging questions were posed.
Direct Marketing Representative
They really went into detail about how direct marketing works and if it's the right fit for you. Then, they were super keen to get me on board with the idea that a commission-based salary is the only way to go for their planned career path. After about 6-8 months of working my way up from sales to an administrative role, I'll apparently become an 'owner'.
- Do you know what direct marketing is?
- What is your understanding of the law of averages?
Customer Service Representative
I uploaded my resume on careerbuilder and was contacted shortly about coming in for an interview. Before going in for the interview, I looked online to see if I could find any information about the company. It has an impressive website, but the descriptions about their marketing campaigns were very vague and not informative.
