First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Walking Company Holdings.
Customer Service Manager
The first interview was a phone call with a SVP of logistics and a Director of distribution. They were late and didn't know much about call center culture. The second interview felt like the company executives were just looking for praise about their operations. They also spoke negatively about the current manager, which was unprofessional. The final interview was with a remote director and the same SVP. They asked basic leadership questions, but it seemed like they had different goals. The director wanted to develop employees and increase revenue, while the SVP was more concerned with controlling the team.
- How do you deal with workplace drama?
- What makes you not consider a job at a bigger company in Charlotte?
Sales Associate
It was an easy hire, they asked a lot of questions. Just make sure you have experience in sales. Be extremely positive and kind in this atmosphere. We had some salary negotiations. I suggest asking for two dollars more than your previous job. Don't settle for less. The commission is also great.
- Do you enjoy sales?
- Do you like shoes?
- Can you describe your responsibility?
Key Holder
I met the store manager, and since I was early, we started ahead of schedule. She asked about my past jobs and experience. She also asked me about myself and my comfort level with physical tasks like climbing and bending. The interview was around 20 minutes, and I got a call with an offer by 1:00 pm the same day.
- What distinguishes you from others?
- Can you describe your best manager and explain your reasoning?
Assistant Store Manager
First there was a 10-minute phone call to talk about your experience and when you're free. Then, a 30-minute in-person meeting where we'll really dig into your experience and what you're looking for. If the store manager likes you after that, we'll schedule a time for you to talk with the district manager too.
- In what ways can you contribute to the growth of this store?
