First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Walker Sands.
Intern
I had an initial screening with the recruiter, then was given a written test. They said it should take no more than 2 hours, but I spent double that to make sure it was good. I got a 2-sentence rejection email the next day. It felt cold after all that work.
- What makes Walker Sands unique compared to other B2B firms?
Intern
The interview process was conducted in two rounds, first with the Account Executives, then with Media Relations Specialists. Everyone was very friendly and professional. Questions covered the standard background information, such as walking them through your resume, describing your work experience and how you can apply that to benefit the company. They asked multiple questions about interacting in group settings and leadership ability, as well as what you wanted to get out of your internship. Overall it was a positive experience, and there appeared to be a good work culture within the company.
- Tell me about a time you had to take the lead in a situation.
Intern
I applied online and heard back in about a week. They sent me a short skills test that was pretty hard, and I had the weekend to do it. They liked my test and called me for an interview the next week. Since I lived out of state, it was over Skype. I spoke with both the department supervisor and the HR person for interns. They let me know their decision two days after the interview.
- Can you share an online video you find compelling and explain what makes it successful?
