I was contacted to move forward with a phone interview and asked to share my availability, which I did. The individual informed me that they were going to schedule my phone screen "as soon as possible." Instead of being scheduled, I later received a rejection email nearly two weeks later without ever having the opportunity to speak with anyone. It seems like hiring priorities changed, but once candidates are invited to interview and asked to prepare availability, clear communication and follow-through matter. Candidates have invested time and effort into the process. This left me with a negative impression of the hiring process and decreased my interest in applying to this agency again. The lack of follow-through suggests internal resourcing or budget constraints that are impacting the hiring process.

The interview process was very clear and straightforward. It began with an initial interview with their people team where they gauged my background and described the role. This was followed by a second interview with the CEO. Since this was a CEO-reporting role, the order of interviews might be different for other positions.

it was a pretty standard interview process. they asked questions like, tell me about yourself, why walker sands, and about a challenge. it wasn't very difficult, i just wasn't prepared and was nervous, so i blanked on a question. the first interview was over the phone with a recruiter.

I had a recruiter call first, which I thought was good. After that, I was given a 'skills test' which felt more like a demanding design project. I got a lot of copy and needed to design a one or two-pager in their brand, which they said should take 5 hours but took me longer because I wanted to really stand out and studied their brand guidelines. I got a rejection email soon after with no feedback. I'm glad I was rejected though because the pay was below average for a senior role and other reviews mention negatives. It makes me wonder if they use the skills test for free ideas.
