Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at WakeMed Health and Hospitals.
Registered Nurse
The interview process seemed to be mostly just me. I think I wasn't able to express myself clearly because I was so nervous and anxious. My nerves probably cost me the job because they sent an email saying I didn't get it, and I was still in the interview.
- How do you handle stressful situations?
Registered Nurse
I applied online and then got a call for an interview about a week later. The actual interview was scheduled for four weeks after that call. I interviewed with a staff nurse, two clinical educators, and the hiring manager. They asked me a lot of questions.
- Can you explain your interest in WakeMed?
- What unique contributions can you make to our team?
- Describe a situation where you made a suboptimal decision.
Registered Nurse
Had some staff panel interviews, then management interviews. Got to see the work area and even shadowed a coworker for a few hours to see how things flow. Got to chat with other staff too, ask them stuff about the job and get a feel for the work atmosphere and conditions. Also got a tour and met people from different departments.
- How flexible are you with your schedule?
