& Process

The interview process was great from start to finish. It was smooth, well-organized, and thoughtfully structured. Each step was clearly communicated, which helped set expectations and ease any nerves. The interviewers were professional, friendly, and made me feel comfortable throughout. I appreciated how timely and efficient the entire process was, with no unnecessary delays. Every interaction reflected the company’s values and culture, which made the experience even more engaging.

So I interviewed with area managers first. Then I did this 2 shift 'stage' Waffle House style thing, and also talked to 4 more area/district/regional managers. I've got 20 years experience as a Chef and Restaurant Manager, and I thought I did really well working with the team. Almost 10 managers total interviewed me, and they all talked like I was gonna be hired as a manager, even showing me their actual online pay from last year. Everything seemed really good. I got compliments on my food during the 2 shifts and figured I was hired as a manager. The day after, one of the area managers called and offered me '2nd shift supervisor + Rock Star Grill Cook' for $13.40/hr, plus bonuses up to $15.50/hr. They never talked about anything other than management (which pays 52k-54k/yr). I know I presented well and have the skills to manage their restaurant style. I told them I left previous jobs because I hit my pay ceiling and needed growth. Making $18/hr with no more potential wasn't gonna work for me. Being offered the supervisor role totally blindsided me. I turned down other jobs to go through this 2-3 week process. If you're interviewing for management here, make sure you're clear: it's management or nothing if that's what you want. I'll just leave it at that.

The Waffle House recruiter suggested I schedule the second round interview, but I chose not to pursue it because I wanted to explore other opportunities. Overall, it was a decent interview experience.
