First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wabtec.
Mechanical Engineer
The interview was held online and lasted about half an hour. It involved some technical questions and queries about my project. I received the outcome of the interview process quite quickly.
- Can you describe your contributions to this project?
Mechanical Engineering Intern
I had a pleasant interview experience through my university's online career fair back in October 2020. It involved some behavioral questions and a few technical ones, none of which were too challenging. They seemed more interested in how I'd navigate different work settings.
- What motivated your interest in an internship at Wabtec, and what specifically about the company caught your attention?
- Could you elaborate on what aspects of Wabtec persuaded you to submit an application?
Mechanical Engineer
The interview process started with a typical HR info gathering call. That was followed by a Teams-based interview with the Engineering manager. The final round was an in-person interview with the Engineering manager, and they covered the travel expenses. The overall process was pretty standard for what I've experienced before. They asked me about my background and how it fit with the products made at the facility. It seemed to go well, but I didn't hear back from Wabtec. Interestingly, I saw the job posting again about a month after my interview.
- Are you more of a designer who works solely in CAD, or do you prefer hands-on work in the lab?
- Describe your experience in relation to the product line at this facility.
