First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at W Hotels.
Front Desk Clerk
I was contacted by a virtual assistant via email. Then, I had a screening interview over Teams with friendly interviewers. We chatted for about half an hour about my availability, experience, motivation, and salary expectations. That was pretty much it, it was quick and then it was done.
- Can you tell me about your availability?
- What relevant experience do you have?
- What is your motivation for this role?
Intern
Got invited to a chat after applying online, saw the ad on my university's job portal. Had a nice, friendly chat about potential opportunities with a pleasant HR person. They had already filled the role I was interested in a couple weeks prior, but it seems like a really great company.
- Tell me about the biggest challenge you've faced in your life.
Hair Stylist
It was accommodating, direct, informative and engaging. I was interviewed by the supervisor I would be working with. She based the questions surrounding my knowledge base of the company, problem-solving skills, relevant experience, and of course a bit of my background. It was conversational, though there was a certain standard upheld during the interview process that I admired.
- Tell me about a time you had a disagreement or problem with a client and how you resolved it.
Learning Coordinator
I applied online and sent my resume via email. I got a call and they invited me for an in-person interview at the hotel in Polanco. My appointment was for 10:30 am, but I had to wait because my interviewer hadn't arrived yet. While waiting, a coordinator started a casual chat with me, she was very nice and pleasant. The interview lasted quite a while, about 2 hours, and it started as a one-on-one but later became a panel with 2 interviewers.
- Can you share your experience?
- What are your reasons for wanting to work at 'W'?
- Could you detail your responsibilities in your previous role?
