I submitted my cover letter, resume, contact details, and a reference letter. Then, the hiring manager and I chatted for about an hour to an hour and a half, discussing my previous work and how I've handled difficult situations. It's been three weeks since, and I haven't heard back about the next steps or whether I got the job.

After a phone interview with someone at the main branch, I was set up for an in-person interview at the Hauppauage NY location for 8am. I got there 10 minutes early, but the person I was supposed to meet hadn't arrived yet. They asked me to wait in the entrance. It got to 8:10, 8:20, and still no interviewer. I figured at least someone would check on me by 8:30 to give an update or apologize, but no one did. I ended up leaving because I had to get to my current job by 8:45, and even if they showed up, 15 minutes isn't enough for an interview. I couldn't look for someone because there was a big meeting happening in the next room, and I didn't want to interrupt. Plus, that room was the only way to get anywhere else in the building, and employees were standing around listening to furniture sales talk, blocking the way. It felt like a waste of my time, and honestly, it showed me I wouldn't want to work there. The whole place seemed run down and the waiting area was freezing cold. Take the negative reviews seriously; I dismissed them and thought I'd see for myself, but if this is how they treat potential hires, I can't imagine how they treat current employees.

I was employed by a small, family-run local business. Due to the failure of multiple marketing initiatives, the business was acquired by the large corporate company that had consistently been our rival. The corporate president conducted one-on-one interviews with the existing staff to understand their current roles.
