I applied through the Vuori careers website. Then, I got an email for an intro with the Assistant Store Manager. After I answered their questions, they invited me for an onsite interview with the 2nd Assistant Store Manager. The last interview was a phone call with the General Store Manager.

So the interview was a group thing, and it was pretty standard. The manager seemed to have favorites right away and wasn't really listening to anyone else. I've got 2 years of retail experience, including 1 year in supervision. After the group interview, she said we'd hear back the next week about an in-person store interview. But then I got an HR rejection email. I figured maybe I didn't stand out in the group interview until my friend, who has zero retail experience and is starting her first job ever, got the job! I really think Vuori just hires whoever the manager likes, not based on actual experience. It feels like a really cliquey place.

I applied and didn't hear back for two weeks, so I called the store. I was told the manager was out but would call me back by end of day. No call, so I called again the next day, same thing. After a third call, I finally got an interview time. The interview was fine, and they said I'd hear back in two days with a start date the next week. Two days passed, still no word. I called again and was told the manager was out but I'd get a call that day. Instead of a call, I got an automated rejection email. The whole process felt unprofessional, and it seemed like it was based on whether the manager liked you, not experience or skill. It was a very unprofessional experience; candidates should feel respected and have their time valued.
