Customer Success Manager
Applied a few months ago and got no response, then a recruiter reached out about the role. The first step was a 30-minute recruiter screening call, then a call with the VP. After that, there were two 30-minute "value" interviews with random company folks to check for cultural fit. Right after those, I got an email saying the position was filled, implying they had someone else in mind. But, they offered me another role to interview for, which I accepted. The next interview was a video call with the hiring manager, which went well. Then, I was invited to the final stage: a take-home assignment followed by an onsite presentation. I had to chase them twice for the assignment details. I spent a lot of time on the research and presentation, went to their office to present, and got good feedback. Despite that, I received a generic "sorry we are moving forward with another candidate..." email. It seems like they had other candidates lined up for this role too, and I was just a backup. Given the time commitment, I expected a more personal response than a non-reply system email.
- On a scale of 1 to 10, how would your last three managers grade your performance, and can you explain why?
Customer Success Manager
I spoke with several people over about 2-3 weeks and also had a take-home assignment. Everyone was really nice, open, and answered my questions. Just be ready for behavioral/situational questions.
- Can you tell me about a time you had to handle an unhappy customer?
- What's the most useful feedback you've ever gotten from a manager?
Customer Success Manager
The CEO reached out to me on LinkedIn about this role. I had one interview with the recruiting manager. After following up for over a week, I was told they weren't interested because I hadn't put together QBR presentations, even though I mentioned I had done so for smaller clients and that there's a team that helps with them. My advice: if interested, say you have experience with QBRs. I was qualified, it's a shame they wouldn't teach me.
- Can you confirm if you have experience creating QBR presentations?
