First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Vouch Insurance.
Client Service Representative
First, I got a call from a recruiter who asked some basic questions and told me about the job. Then, a recruiting coordinator emailed me to set up onsite interviews with four people from different teams, including my potential manager. I also got a take-home test with questions about client scenarios to test my writing and communication skills. A few days later, I got an offer. The whole process was really quick and straightforward, and everyone I met was friendly!
- What's your approach to dealing with a customer who is unhappy or dissatisfied?
Senior Software Engineer
So vouch's process is a recruiter call, a manager zoom call, a coding challenge, and then a 4 hour onsite. The manager call, the code screen, and the coding part of the final round were pretty standard, and the people running them were nice and smart. But the other interviews were a mess. The product person for the onsite product round was late and seemed to be calling from his desk with background noise and echo. He seemed new to interviewing, unsure of what to do next. The architecture review interviewer was also late because of a production issue, making the round rushed. The engineering director seemed tired and asked irrelevant questions about leading teams and agile ceremonies, even though my job description didn't mention management experience.
- Can you discuss a product you were involved with that didn't perform well commercially?
- What's your experience with building and leading teams?
- How do you typically get ready for a team's agile planning meeting?
Operations Associate
Applied on LinkedIn and heard back really quickly to schedule a phone screen. The call was supposed to be on Monday but they called an old number even though I confirmed my contact info twice, so I had to call them back. The interviewer seemed to think I was a good fit because my experience and what I'm looking for matched their needs. She said I'd hear back in 48 hours, which I did, but it was the usual "we're going with other candidates" email. So, another wasted opportunity. The interview steps were: Recruiter Screen, Zoom Interview, Case Study Mock Project, and a Virtual Panel Interview.

Account Manager
I was really interested in the Account Manager position, but after talking with the interviewer, I started to doubt if I would be a good fit for the role. It wasn't anyone's fault, but I realized the role wasn't for me after my phone screening with Vouch. The interviewer was a really nice and friendly woman. I already knew a lot about Vouch before the interview, so we had a really smooth and natural conversation. They were very responsive and polite throughout our interaction. My only suggestion for them is to provide feedback to candidates they don't move forward with. It would really showcase what a great employer they are.
- Can you tell me about your background and what your day-to-day responsibilities were at your last job?
