The interview process was really straightforward and easy! If you have piercings, remove them or wear a mask for the interview. Just be charismatic and showcase your personality. They got back to me quickly and I started within a week of the interview. The training process is a little stressful for shoe sales, but the interview tells you what to expect.

Behavioral Presentation

The interview process was quite thorough but moved along at a decent speed. They did a good job of explaining the role, what's expected of me, the hours, and what my manager is looking for. I spoke with both the department manager and the store manager. It was a two-part interview, and a part of it included a mock styling session.

Behavioral Technical

The interview focused on my previous retail work, which was similar to the Cosmetics Sales Associate role I was applying for at Von Maur, although I worked for a different department store. They asked a lot about my prior employer, and it was challenging not to speak negatively about them. They also seemed somewhat overly curious about my reasons for leaving my last position. Besides that, I met with both the cosmetics manager and the store manager. They both spoke highly of me and it felt like we really connected well.
